IB Learner Profile Characteristic: THINKERS

How does this piece of evidence show the chosen IB Learner Profile Characteristic? 

I chose this IB learner profile characteristic since I feel it is the one which relates most to this piece of work. I find this relationship since I used critical and creative thinking skills, in order to get to the topic that was touched. Also, given that I had to go through a thinking process, including researching information, obtaining data, analyzing and connecting ideas, among other things, all in order to proceed responsibly facing the complex situation that was developed.

Which challenges did I face when developing this particular evidence? 

I did face some challenges throughout this work process, the first one was trying to find a topic of importance in order to reach congruent conclusions. The next challenge, and one of the most difficult ones  for me was data collection, since it is quite a long process. Finally, the last challenge I faced in this work was trying to connect the data obtained with the topic, and reach the conclusions.

Which feelings or memories do I remember while thinking about the evidence? 

I remember that despite the little time we had, compared to the work in other subjects, I was be able to deliver the work in a timely manner. I must admit that during the process I lacked organization, but I feel that at the end, I was able to deliver quality work.

What did I learn about myself while completing this evidence? 
This work was indeed a great challenge for me, given we had such short time to do it, which made the process difficult. But despite the challenges, I feel that this piece of work was a great experience for me, as it helped me realize that if I focus and dedicate my time on something, even if it is a very extensive and laborious piece of work, I can get it done, on time and in good shape.

IB Learner Profile Characteristic: CARING

How does this piece of evidence show the chosen IB Learner Profile Characteristic? 

I chose this IB learner profile characteristic since I feel it is the one which relates most to this piece of work, given that I showed empathy, sensitivity and respect towards the subject matter. Also, I somehow showed a commitment to the environment, in order to positively influence and inform about the issue.

Which challenges did I face when developing this particular evidence? 

I faced several challenges, given that it was an extensive project. I feel the most challenging one was gathering the information and data. It was a lengthy process given that it had to have general data and my one community's data, and then connect them together. So, another big challenge was making that connection and getting congruent conclusions. 

Which feelings or memories do I remember while thinking about the evidence? 

As I said before, I remember this project being lengthy, but despite that, I really enjoyed making it since it informed me about my own community issues. 

What did I learn about myself while completing this evidence? 

I learned that even though i'm not an expert on the environment, I can get to know issues which surround me and others, and understand the why of it.

IB Learner Profile Characteristic: PRINCIPLED

How does this piece of evidence show the chosen IB Learner Profile Characteristic? 

I chose this IB learner profile characteristic since I feel it is the one which relates most to this piece of work, since this project was mainly about creating consciousness. We had to act with integrity, and in some way honesty, with a sense of equity, balance, responsibility, among other things, towards the subject matter, Consumption of Water. Responsibility and awareness had to be assumed about this issue, given that it is a matter of great importance and global impact.

Which challenges did I face when developing this particular evidence? 
I feel the challenge I faced within this project was the pressure of knowing that I was timing my water consumption time and amount of water. I think this was a factor which altered my results, given that I was thinking about how long I've been in the shower and if it was  already taking too much time.

Which feelings or memories do I remember while thinking about the evidence? 

As I said before, I felt pressure since I was timing myself and my water consumption. I remember I kind of felt guilty and exposed since I didn't really know what my other classmates time and waste would be, and I didn't want to be the one which had the most water consumption. 

How can this particular evidence help me in the future? 

I feel this experience helped me realized water consumption. It made me aware of the time and waste I was making, and this helped me and will help me in the future, since it made me more responsable and aware of the issue.
